Prof. B.V. Bhosale is a distinguished sociologist and currently serves as Professor & Head, Department of Sociology, University of Mumbai. He holds a B.A., M.A., and Ph.D. in Sociology from the University of Pune, with research expertise spanning the sociology of informal sector, industry, labour and globalization, urban sociology, and tourism economies. Throughout his academic career, he has held prominent positions at institutions such as Smt. Parvatibai Chowgule College (Goa), Chetna college, (Mumbai) University of Pune, and University of Mumbai. His contributions to Dalit studies, informal sector economies, and the socio-economic transformations of mega cities—particularly Mumbai—are widely recognized. Prof. Bhosale has authored and edited several influential books, including Charmakars in Transition (2003) Mobilisation of Backward Communities in India (2004) Informal Sector in India: Challenges and Consequences. (2010) Sociology of Dalit Literature (2014) and Dalit sahitya ka samajshastra (2015) His international academic engagements at leading institutions, delivered lectures in Industry and labour studies at Ottovon Guericke University of Magdeburg, Germany, 21st October to 24th November, 2002., Lectured in Department of Sociology and English at Ottovon Guericke University of Magdeburg, Germany, and 29th November. To 23rd December. 2004.

• Visited University of Picardie, Amiens, and was invited to present findings on “Social Representations of Globalisation”, at Maison de sciences, Paris, 25th March 2006 to 31st March 2006. Visited China (Beijing and Shanghai) as Member of Delegation for Sino-India Cooperation to visit China organised by Chinese Academy of Sciences 22nd to28th April, 2015. Participated in the seminar on Sino-Indian Strategic exchanges and cooperation organized by national Institute of International Strategy, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and Chaired a session on “Challenges on Social development and Social Security and Cooperation between China and India.” 2015.
• Visited Department of Economic Sociology at St - Petersburg State University with support of Khamovniki Foundation for Field Research and Discussion on craft labour held at St- Petersburg, Russia from 17th to 27th April, 2017. Visited Department of Economic Sociology at St. Petersburg State University, Russia for field research and Delivered lectures on labour in India from 13th April 2018 to 19th April, 2018.
• Visited Universita Politecnica Delle Marche, Ancona, Italy, as Visiting scientist from 15th June 2018 to 15th July 2018.
• Participated in the Academic leadership Development Programme (Under LEAP) organised by the National Institute of Educational Planning and Administration (NIEPA) in Collaboration with Said Business School, University of Oxford during February 03-19th, 2019 in New Delhi and University of Oxford, UK.
• Presented Paper on Digital Economy and Labour in India, in the 13th St. Petersburg. International labour forum, Expo Forum, Russia. Organised by the Government of St.  Petersburg, St. Petersburg State University and Expo Forum International, with the support of the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of Russian Federation, February 28th 2019 – March 1st 2019
